Rutherford Falls has become one of my favorite shows of all time.
Rutherford Falls is a show that comes from a place of almost entirely Native creatives. And the show is about small town and the Natives peoples there (Minishonka Nation), and their interactions together.
It's a comedy similar in vibe to something like The Office. But Indigenous AF. And that's a big part of why I love the show. I really do love The Office as a show. It's a comfort show for me, like it is for so many others. You'll also find many references to The Office's theme song in this cover. So keep your ears open for that!
Anyways season 2 of Rutherford Falls just came out a few weeks ago and I've already watched twice. And you should watch it to, you can watch the first season for free and see if you like it!
My fondness of the show and it's theme song, and music in general, made me want to cover the theme song. And who better than me, an NDN, to cover a theme song for a show made almost entirely by NDNs? I mean 2 of the leads in the show are Oceti Sakowin and so am I. And there really aren't that many Natives in the cover scene... I can think of one other than myself. So it's almost my duty, an obligation, to cover this theme song. To show the show some love. And I greatly greatly enjoyed doing so. I hope you enjoy the cover. Thanks so much for listening!
